In 1673, 128 monks of the southern
Shaolin temple defeated the army
of Xilu without suffering a
single casualty.

The Shaolin monks soon    
earned a reputation of invinsibility that       
spread through the land like a wild fire.          

Many years later in 1722 the
emperor Yongzheng, who had
suceeded the Qing emperor Kangx
(1662–1722), ordered the Shaolin
temple's destruction. Qing forces
launched a secret attack on the
southern Shaolin temple in 1723.

The sky lit up and night became
day as fire arrows rained without
mercy on the temple. After a brave
fight the monks were overwhelmed
110 were killed but 18 survived.







These 18 monks were hunted down for almost 3 months, fighting until only 5 remained they scattered throughout the and, these 5 monks held the secrets to Shaolin Kung Fu.
